Keeping our homes safe and secure is a top priority for all of us. The traditional lock and key system feels outdated and vulnerable with technology advancing rapidly. That's why I was thrilled to discover the August Wifi Smart Locks. I researched before purchasing, read glowing reviews, and talked to happy customers. And now, after installing the locks on two of our doors, I am excited to share my experience with you.
The installation process was surprisingly easy - it just took a few minutes on each door (We have two). The August Wifi Smart Locks work with your current setup, so there's no need to replace anything. You only need a screwdriver and the August app on your smartphone to guide you through the process.
Then, you just replace the inside plate of your existing deadbolt with the August Smart Lock, and voila, you have a smart lock connected to WiFi that can be controlled remotely. I was pleasantly surprised at how simple installing and setting up was. Each lock uses the (2) CR23 batteries, which will last roughly 6 months, depending on how often you use the door. Heavy usage means more battery changes, and I recommend rechargeable.

One of the standout features of the August Wifi Smart Locks is the ability to control them remotely through the August smartphone app.
With the app, you can lock and unlock your doors from anywhere, check the status of your lock, and see a log of who has entered and exited your home. This feature has been incredibly convenient, as I often forget to lock the doors when I leave the house. Now, I can easily check and lock them from my phone.
I highly recommend adding the wireless keypad for those without access to their phone. You can assign codes to various family members or visitors for easy passcode entrance.
Another feature I have come to appreciate is the auto-lock and auto-unlock feature. This means you can set your August Wifi Smart Lock to automatically lock or unlock when you approach or leave your home, which is incredibly useful if you have your hands full or your phone is in your pocket. It has made entering and leaving my home a lot smoother and easier. I must mention my kids have difficulty remembering to lock the doors. This removes that possibility.
Security was, of course, one of my main concerns when considering August Wifi Smart Locks. But after researching, I can confidently say this lock is very secure. It uses AES 128-bit and TLS encryption to protect your data, and the app requires two-factor authentication for added security. The August Smart Lock is compatible with other smart home devices and works with Alexa and Google Assistant. All these features make the August Wifi Smart Locks a smart choice for keeping your home safe and secure.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the August Wifi Smart Locks to upgrade your home security. From its ease of installation and use to its advanced security features, it has quickly become an essential part of my home. I love the convenience of controlling it remotely, and the auto-lock and auto-unlock functions have made my life easier. It's a high-quality investment that will pay off in the long run and give you peace of mind knowing that your home is secure and protected.
